Jean Dubuffet coined "Art Brut" in the 1940s for art "untouched by artistic culture," works by psychiatric patients, hermits, self-taught creators. The Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne holds 5,000+ works by 133 creators. Roger Cardinal coined "Outsider Art" in 1972.
